In Person Training: Mastering 7(a) Small Loan Underwriting
SBA announced that as of 2/28/26 it will sunset its SBSS scoring for 7(a) Small Loans. Underwriting combines both art and science into its analysis, so now it’s even more important to understand prudent underwriting and SBA requirements for 7(a) Small Loans. This 2-hour intensive workshop focuses on what SBA requires for cash flow analysis, debt service coverage, and collateral for start-ups and established businesses. Learn underwriting best practices and tactical tips to ensure robust credit files that stand up to audit and protect the SBA guaranty.
In Person Training: Airtight 7(a) Loan Disbursements
Lenders must document each 7(a) loan disbursement to ensure every dollar is documented correctly and the file is audit-ready. Learn how to master the complexities of single and multiple disbursements in this interactive 2-hour workshop. Using detailed scenarios, you’ll learn exactly when to collect invoices and supporting documentation, how to identify and make disbursements, and how to change the use of proceeds. We’ll cover critical SOP 50 10 8 requirements, SBA Form 1050 execution, and strategies to prevent “repair” triggers and an ironclad SBA guaranty.
In Person Training: Strategic Loan Servicing and Workouts
Sharpen your skills in portfolio management in this interactive 2-hour workshop focused on 7(a) servicing actions and payment modifications. Using SOP 50 57 4 regulatory requirements, this session tackles real-world simple to complex servicing scenarios —from collateral-impacting actions to ownership changes and payment modifications. When analyzing workouts, you’ll learn to identify when a payment modification request can be structured into a “stay-in-business” workout. Through hands-on case studies, this session equips lenders with practical strategies for prudent, commercially reasonable risk mitigation.
In Person Training: Maximizing SBA Guaranty Payment Success
SBA honors its loan guaranty provided the lender can document that it “made, closed, serviced and liquidated the loan in accordance with SBA Loan Program Requirements and prudent lending practices.” Protecting the guaranty starts during loan origination and continues through the purchase process. In this intensive 2-hour workshop, participants will examine detailed hands-on scenarios that highlight essential “dos and don’ts” and explore best practices for avoiding common deficiencies that result in repairs or denials of liability. This is a “must-take” course for every 7(a) lender.
