President Trump signed H.R. 6500, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027, into law last night, completing action on the Continuing Resolution and funding the federal government through December 11, 2026.
The President’s signature follows House passage earlier this week of the Senate-approved measure and removes the immediate threat of a government shutdown as FY27 begins.
As previously reported, the final law also includes the 7(a) and Secondary Market anomaly provisions advocated for by NAGGL. With the CR now in place, attention turns to negotiations over full-year FY27 appropriations. NAGGL will continue to closely follow those negotiations and advocate for both the 7(a) and Secondary Market Guarantee Programs as Congress works toward a longer-term funding agreement.
