Jane Butler Future Lending Leaders Scholarship

Purpose

The Jane Butler Future Lending Leaders Scholarship honors the legacy of Jane Butler and her deep commitment to developing the next generation of professionals in the SBA 7(a) lending community.

This scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers for individuals selected to participate in NAGGL’s Future Lending Leaders (FLL) Program, ensuring that promising professionals can access this high-impact development opportunity regardless of employer funding constraints.

About the Scholarship

The Jane Butler Future Lending Leaders Scholarship is awarded annually to one individual selected for each Future Lending Leaders class. The scholarship provides full coverage of the FLL program registration fee and is applied directly to program costs. Funds are not distributed directly to the recipient and may not be transferred or applied to other NAGGL programs or events.

This scholarship does not cover travel, lodging, or incidental expenses associated with program participation.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Jane Butler Future Lending Leaders Scholarship, applicants must:

Selection Process

Scholarship review takes place after FLL program acceptance decisions are finalized. The FLL Selection Committee also serves as the Scholarship Selection Committee and follows formal conflict-of-interest and ethics standards.

Applications are evaluated using a standardized rubric, with financial need serving as the primary consideration alongside alignment with the goals of the FLL Program.

The scholarship recipient will be notified and must formally accept the award in writing.
