SBA has advised that it has extended, from December 31, 2025 to June 30, 2026, the deadline for Franchise Brands that were listed on the SBA Franchise Directory as of May 2023, to complete the required re-certification process described in SBA Information Notice 5000-866746 (effective April 21, 2025).
SBA is sending notice of this extension to lenders who have registered to receive communications from SBA’s Office of Capital Access. 7(a) lenders can sign up to receive OCA communications using this link: Subscribe to SBA OCA 7(a) Loan Program Newsletter.
Per the process currently in place, during the extension period, brands that have not completed the new certification must continue to use any Addendum indicated in the brand’s listing on the Directory and also must comply with any included notes. Also continuing is the requirement that the franchisor/distributor and the franchisee both execute any required addendum prior to loan disbursement. Effective June 30, 2026, any brand that has not executed the new SBA certification will be removed from the Directory and will no longer be eligible for SBA loans.
