Properly filing liens against collateral is a key component to making SBA loans and protecting the SBA guaranty.  If a lender fails to obtain a required lien position or does not properly perfect a security interest, the result may be a partial or even full denial of SBA’s guaranty – and no lender wants that to happen!  What is a blanket lien, a specific lien, a purchase money filing and the differences between them will be made clear.  Join NAGGL instructor, attorney and industry expert Tom Hofstetter (Schenck Price Smith & King) as he explains Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code so that you understand how to create and perfect a security interest in personal property collateral and fixtures--and to protect your SBA guaranty.
