Understanding the language in the Loan Authorization Boilerplate can assist lenders when structuring and closing 7(a) loans, and having an Authorization that clearly reflects a loan request and SBA program requirements is key to a compliant closing and ensuring a valid SBA guaranty. SBA revised the Loan Authorization Boilerplate in 2018 and released a new Wizard, but not everyone is comfortable using it. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a magician to use the Wizard! Join Rachel Zippwald (NAGGL) as she walks through the steps to write a loan authorization for a single borrower, co-borrowers, and an EPC/OC structured loan.
