SBA regulations require that lenders determine that there is “sufficient invested equity” for every SBA loan.  SOP 50 10 5(J) and Policy Notice 5000-17057 redefined what constitutes an equity injection and established new equity injection mandates for loans made for certain purposes. Join Jane Butler (NAGGL) for a quick review of the SOP 50 10 5(J) equity injection requirements followed by a discussion of several real-life examples of what is and isn’t acceptable to SBA as an equity injection, including best practices for verifying equity injections to protect the guaranty.
