Looking Back, May
1994: National PLP Processing Center Opened
In 1994, aided by feedback from NAGGL, the SBA streamlined its
operations by opening the national PLP processing center. Since then,
the center has relieved the burden of field offices, lowered operating
costs, and enhanced consistency, turnaround time, and PLP reporting
capabilities.
When it opened, the center managed approximately 160 PLP lenders
making 2,000 loans per year. Now known as the Sacramento Loan Processing
Center, it handles approximately 975 expedited lenders making more than
50,000 loans per year.
