[NAGGL] has collected a list [of] questions from its constituency … "They want to know, for example, how fast will the SBA pay the interest on the loans," says Wilkinson. "And, with a 60% default rate expected, [they want to know] how and when can they collect on a guarantee, given that one of the biggest expenses is liquidating a loan."

Dealer Floor Plan Financing Pilot Initiative
SBA's newest initiative begins July 1, 2009: the Dealer Floor Plan Financing Pilot Initiative. Floor plan financing is a line of credit that allows dealers to borrow against their inventory, and then repay that debt as they sell their inventory or borrow against the line of credit again to add new inventory. Under the DFP pilot initiative, SBA will offer a 75% guarantee on revolving lines of credit in amounts between $500,000 and $2 million. The maximum maturity for the loans will be five years, and the maximum advance rate will be 90% of the wholesale price of auto and light truck inventory and 80% of the wholesale price of other inventory. In Memoriam
NAGGL was recently notified that Pete Haginas (Haginas & Chapman/AMS in Houston, TX) passed away in December from complications with Myasthenia Gravis (muscle disease). Pete had been active in the association since 2002 servicing as a conference speaker and exhibitor on several occasions. more >
