Continuing Resolution provides agency $1 billion in additional lending authority
Thanks to the hard work of NAGGL's CEO, the government relations team and our Hill partners -- Senator Cantwell and Senator Risch, Section 125 of the Continuing Appropriations Resolution  H.J. Res 124 ("the CR") that just passed the Senate [and the House on Wednesday] contains good news for the SBA 7(a) industry -- a $1 billion increase in the SBA's lending authority for both FY 2014 and FY 2015:  from $17.5 billion to $18.5 billion. The growing demand for loans and the increasing health of small businesses across the nation that have received SBA financing demonstrates the value of the 7(a) program and the critical role it has played in our economic resurgence.

Based on the serious flaws within its data, SBA no longer provides to the public its franchise performance data. "Since lenders are not required to provide franchise 'codes' to the SBA, the agency's franchise data is incomplete and its accuracy is questionable." -- FRANdata, 2011
