Letter to Administrator Mills
re: Lender Ongoing Fee
Lenders were notified in June about a major change to SBA practice
regarding collection of the ongoing guarantee fee through the date of
purchase. The fee accrues post-default through the date of purchase and
is now being deducted directly from the purchase payment. NAGGL has
outlined the major problems with this change in a letter to
Administrator Mills. Get It >

NEW - Version 8 - Servicing and
liquidation actions matrix
SBA posted an updated version of the Servicing and Liquidation
Actions Matrix on 8/16/2010. The only change in this version is the
REMOVAL of the X that noted the ability to use E-Tran on approved loans
prior to initial disbursement to increase the loan amount or SBA's
guarantee percentage. Version 7 had inadvertently shown this was
possible. But, this action REQUIRES SBA approval. Get

Reid sets up votes on small business bill
Just before adjourning at 10:02 pm [8/5] Reid filed a
series of cloture motions to set up votes on the small business bill on

SOP 50 10 5 - Next revision
There is NO August 1, 2010 version of SOP 50 10 5. As we've
mentioned several times, the target date for the next release of the 50
10 is September 1, with an effective date around October 1, 2010. The
dates are subject to the document making it through the multi-layered
clearance process before becoming publicly available.
Cloture vote on HR 5297 Fails
Despite the bipartisan
nature of HR 5297 and the support of close to 80 small business
advocacy groups, the Senate voted along party lines this morning and
brought down the cloture vote. Majority Leader Reid in his statement
prior to the vote publicly agreed to remove the $1.2 billion
agriculture disaster relief provision that some Republicans had
opposed, and, 'in a show of good faith', to honor the 3
side-by-side amendments. But, Minority Leader McConnell refused and
told his members to vote no on cloture. Senator Landrieu continues to
work tirelessly, as Reid and McConnell meet behind-the-scenes to reach
agreement as the debate continues.
